Contropotere
Formed in the mid 80s by a collective of anarchist squatters in Naples, Italy; Contropotere crafted their own unique version of dark, experimental hardcore. Their singer, Lucia, delivers some of the most gut wrenchingly heartfelt and POWERFUL female vocals known to punk rock amidst tribal beats and hauntingly beautiful piano.
Contropotere were and Italian anarcho crust band formed in 1986 who brought something different and amazing to the international crust scene. By incorporating non-traditional instrumentation and a discordance not usually found in the genre, Contropotere created music that was both ghostly and primitive.
The lyrics (English translations included in the liner notes) touch on common anarchist themes, but tend to stay on the esoteric side of things, and the dual female vocals really make the entire musical package more angry. This baby just drips with passion and energy.

Formed in 2000 as a band heavily influenced by Choking Victim, Skarp quickly steered their ship into heavier, more turbulent waters, trading the ska elements for blast beats. Skarp’s savage brand of grinding mayhem will strike a chord with fans of crust, grind, hardcore and even some of the more virulent strains of metal.
Outlook
Outlook is a politically-charged hardcore punk band from Olympia, Washington that started in 2008. They have released a demo, a self-titled 7”, a cassette EP called “Vision”, and an LP called “Our Time Is Now”. Having a staunch D.I.Y. ethic, all of their records have been self-released.
